I get the concept of the character, pole vault.  But what I don't get is where it is on the keyboard or how to select it.  Thanks.

Thank you, Robert. You explain in layman's terms quite well. In my case, my website was developed by a developer. I'm preparing to take over management of my website. What I haven't found yet is how to be certain the blog on my website has a RSS feed. Mine doesn't which caused me to create a separate blogger site. I want to eliminate that one and draw traffic back to my web page. Do you have a tutorial for how to give your blog a RSS feed? Thanks for all of your tutorials.

So in order to use the 'post via E-mail' function, would I need to set up an alternative e-mail with my hosting company?

There is an option to show or hide the tagline in your "Settings" area.

I created my tag lines as instructed, but I am not seeing them on my actual site. I am brand new at web sites in general so it might be that I am not looking in the correct place.

Think about living your life with freedom. It would be awesome right? Well anyone can. Look for Clouded Cash Cow on Google (GOOGLE IT). My mum has has been making $2,599 a week using Clouded Cash Cow. Seriously Google it.

My version of wordpress (3.5 I think) doesn't have the option for making a post description/summary that yours does. Will I find this handy post feature anywhere else?

You can, but it won't change your past permalinks. You would have to go back to each past post and edit the link URL found under the post title.

The privacy settings are located under "Settings" > "Reading". Keep in mind that if you check the "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" option, this may or may not keep your site from being indexed. I wish it did, but there's no promise.

My site redirects to another website. The site I'm making is for a radio show and it links to the site of the radio station it is on (kcbq.com). I haven't done much to the site other than have it hosted and the steps you went through in part 3 of this video series. It's hosted on bluehost. Looking to fix it so it directs straight to the radio shows site.

Then, if I'm understanding you correctly, it's a fresh install. I would trash the page you posted and see if that works. Beyond that, we would be getting into a tech support issue with me to look at your website.

Is this a fresh instillation? If it is, trash it and install a fresh copy and start over. If you've had your website up and running before the page edit, then I would contact your tech support at your hosting company. Is the site up or is it just the page?

    Hi Nigelum, great tut!!

I've been working with WordPress for a while now, and came across your tut today.

I changed the Permalink Settings as you described to /%postname%, saved the changes and received a 403 forbidden message.

I can't even log in to the admin page anymore, I keep receiving a 403 forbidden message.

Any tips or help regarding this issue?

    Thank you!

I believe that there is a theme called "Timeline", which looks a lot like Facebook's timeline. Since I can't put a URL here, you can just do a search for it.

You will find it under "Settings" > "Reading". You will have to choose a "Static" page and a "blog" page where you're posts will go.

@FM43ful You can't change the WordPress font unless your theme allows it. If you are not wanting tags to appear, you will have to not put any in when creating a post. If you hve a theme that allows for customization of tags & when you can see them, then you can control it but for the core WordPress, you can't control the tags at the bottom unless you don't put any in.

@designtech44 I know what you mean about all the different ways of doing the same thing. Email publishing to your blog is just another option. In a way, it's more like a Tweet, but it's there if you need. it.
