Just tuned in and subbed, your clear, knowledgeable without the hype. Cool ! I prefer to format and compress my image files before uploading to WP. This reduces bloat after a few years when files start to pile up. This also keeps your site size down when backing up, migrating to another server …

I used to use the Hookr.io plugin, but it seems to be abandoned by their developers 🙁

Hey, thanks for all the videos you make!
    1. Do you find using image optimisation plugins are only useful if you don't optimise the images (dimensions/compression) before uploading? or are there other ways these plugins optimise the images?
    2. I'm just starting to look at headless WP, and wondering how SEO is handled, and what the best practices are there. Would you still use a plugin like Yoast or autodescription or do you handle everything via your gatsby or gridsome or frontend?

You could grab the PHP from the standard ACF Tools tab? Does ACF Theme Code Pro just adds some convenience or am I missing something? Great content by the way! Looking forward to what you have in store the upcoming time 🙂

If you using the new Gutenberg Block Editor, I highly suggest EditorsKit Plugin ( https://editorskit.com/ ). I'm a bit biased since I've created it but I'm really sure it'll be of great help on your development as well. Thanks a lot!

Thanks, Query monitor is actually new to me. Will check it. The other plugins I find really essential are Toolset but I mostly use Custom Post Type Maker. Both plugins are great for developers to create Custom Post Types and Custom Taxonomies.

I recommend WPGraphQL too if the developers are aiming for the API especially when they will use WP as a headless CMS.

And my number one plugin whether you are a developer or blog is Really Simple SSL. A free plugin which enforces your site to load on the SSL URL of your website by default.

    'Query Monitor' looks really nice…

And ACF Pro, of course, is mandatory.

I use Imsanity (https://wordpress.org/plugins/imsanity/) as it is easy to use and has option to set maximum dimension for the uploaded image. It scans already uploaded images and resize them if required.

I know this has nothing to do with the video but it might if there is a plugin for this. How do you create conditional statements for Elementor so that my Dynamic ACFs are loaded into my Elementor element based on the current page's title? It seems I can't do this without using code but then if I use code I have no way to interact with my Elementor templates.

Great vid! I like Safe SVG to enable clients to uploads SVG images! For images I like Short Pixel and their suite of plugins. It's paid after a certain number of optimizations, but it's been worth it so far, especially if you take advantage of the App Sumo deal.

I prefer ShortPixel for image optimization. There is a recent comparison of several options on Authority Hacker. EWWW didn't do so good. Some other plugins I like: User Switching, WP Mail Logging, WP Migrate DB Pro. https://www.authorityhacker.com/best-wordpress-image-optimizer/

Great video, as usual. Have you checked out the ACF Extended plugin at all? I recently started playing with it and it is really cool. The additions to the flexible layout field type are honestly incredible.
